Although it could be the size of an air conditioning unit, luckily the Canon PIXMA Pro-1 is not in style that way. In fact, it makes the previous printers in Canon PIXMA Pro line Look, well, a little cheap. Taking cue from the Canon design of High-end EOS bodies camera, the Canon PIXMA Pro-1 has a distinctive, curved and minimalist style. From the two big silver buttons on the front, to the trays and reassuring heavyweight lids, there’s a premium feel for the Canon PIXMA Pro-1.
The 12 separate ink tanks are accessible through the two front panels. Pressing the release button on top of the printer will open these, and replacing the cartridges is a simple process. The test unit came with the print head and the half-full ink tanks already in place. We had to replace a number of tanks, but their large capacity meant that none of them ran dry during the considerable load of our tests.
